Day 1- Arrive Kyoto
Arrive at Kansai International Airport (KIX/Central Japan Airport). You are welcomed and transferred to your hotel, the illustrious Westin Kyoto Gion.
This afternoon or evening you will be introduced to the ancient elegance of the world's most gracious and beautiful Asian city, Kyoto, stopping in the Edo period walking streets of Gion and back alleys of Japan's old capital, where the absolutely gorgeous traditional colors and culture of past Japan radiate in the streets and in the sounds of the town.
13:15 - 13:40 After a brief refreshment in your hotel, pickup from the Lobby.13:40 Heian Jingu Shrine (25 min)Don't miss the characteristic red architecture of this beautiful shrine built to celebrate the 1101 year anniversary of the founding of the city of Kyoto.
Remarks:
This tour will not enter Heian Jingu Shrine's Shin-en garden.
Sanjusangen-do Temple (30 min)Visit the world's longest wooden structure, housing 1,001 life-size statues of Buddhist Kannon deities dating back to the 13th century.
Kiyomizu-dera Temple (70 min)The view of Kyoto from the World Heritage Site of Kiyomizu-dera is superb. The historic shopping lane that leads to the temple adds to a wonderful experience.

Day 2- Nara and Kyoto All Day Tour - Panoramic Ancient Japan
Enjoy Breakfast Buffet in the gorgeous Kyoto Westin Gion, with the best western and Japanese selections.
07:45 - 08:35 Pickup from Westin Kyoto
A UNESCO World Heritage Site. Tour the historical castle completed in 1626, which was built to provide lodging for Tokugawa Shogun and as a palladium for Kyoto Imperial Palace.
Kinkaku-ji Temple (45 min)Visit this World Heritage Site, also known as the Golden Pavilion. The wooden architecture is covered in thin layers of pure gold and is surrounded by a beautiful lake.
Kyoto Imperial Palace (except Saturdays, Sundays, holidays, and specific days) (40 min)Entry of international visitors generally require application in advance, but participants of this tour can enter only by going through a brief procedure.
Remarks: On Saturdays, Sundays, and national holidays, Kyoto Imperial Palace is closed. On these days, the tour will visit Kitano Tenmangu Shrine instead. The same is true of the period before and after the public viewing of Kyoto Imperial Palace in spring and autumn, May 14 - 17 due to the Aoi Festival, New Year's holidays, and whenever there is an Imperial Household event.
Japanese-style lunch (50 min)From Kyoto to Nara (70 min)Head to Nara via the Nara Keinawa Expressway
Nara Park & Todai-ji Temple (Great Buddha) (60 min)A UNESCO World Heritage Site, this is the symbol of the Nara Period and one of the world's largest wooden structure. Its huge main hall and bronze Great Buddha are impressive to behold.
Kasuga Taisha Shrine (40 min)This Nara Period shrine is designated as a World Heritage Site. The deer of Nara Park are thought to be the shrine messengers.
Exclusions: The tour will not enter areas requiring admission.
Nara Nagomikan (20 min)The largest souvenir shop in Nara. Enjoy yourself in this spacious shop and look for the perfect souvenir.

Day 3 - Bicycle Tour of Kyoto and Yamazaki Suntory Whiskey Distillery Tour
Enjoy Breakfast Buffet in the gorgeous Kyoto Westin Gion, with the best western and Japanese selections.
The tour cycles around in Miyagawacho, the second biggest among the five entertainment districts in Kyoto. Along with Gion, the district has its unique taste with machiya (traditional wooden merchant houses) lined along narrow streets.

Ishibei-koji StreetThe traditional feel of this stone paved street in Gion is a gem in Kyoto for those who know where to find it.
Gion DistrictThe area had developed as a major hanamachi (entertainment district with maiko girls and geiko women) and still keeps a refined and elegant atmosphere of old times.
Yasaka ShrineYasaka Shrine is dedicated to a local deity and is a popular sightseeing spot in Kyoto attracting many tourists throughout the year.
Willow trees along the Shirakawa RiverShirakawa River runs through the Gion area and is lined by many cherry blossom and willow trees, giving it the traditional feel of Kyoto.
Heian Jingu ShrineEnjoy coasting through the famous Torii Gate on your bicycle with the sights and sounds of ancient Japan around you and the fresh air and mountain breeze in your face.
Notes: This tour will not enter Heian Jingu Shrine's Shin-en garden.
13:00 Suntory Time!
Head on the JR Line with your personal whiskey expert and guide to the legendary Suntory YAMAZAKI Whiskey distillery, winner of multiple recent years for the BEST WHISKEY IN THE WORLD (whiskey magazine and numerous accreditors.)
Enjoy a guided tour of the distillery with included tasting, and end your tour in the evening back at Kyoto Station, where your tour will finish and your guide will bid you farewell.
